Ride Culture, Adventure Storytelling & Real-World Touring Inspiratio
JKonBikes is a motorcycle-focused platform that highlights real riding experiences, road culture, and adventure journeys built around the everyday life of motorcyclists. Rather than focusing only on destinations, it emphasizes the experience of riding itself—covering scenic highways, backroad exploration, group rides, and long-distance touring stories that reflect what it truly means to live the motorcycle lifestyle.

The platform resonates with riders who value freedom on the road and the process of discovery that comes with every trip. From weekend rides to extended touring routes, JKonBikes showcases the variety and depth of modern motorcycle culture. This kind of content often encourages riders to explore further, take on new routes, and invest more seriously in long-distance travel setups.

That’s where preparation and equipment become just as important as inspiration.

Viking Bags supports riders who take that next step into real touring and adventure riding. When journeys extend over long distances or include unpredictable conditions, dependable luggage becomes a critical part of the ride setup. Riders need storage that can handle vibration, weather exposure, and consistent road use without compromising performance or stability.

For riders using BMW adventure motorcycles, having model-specific hard case options ensures both fitment and functionality for serious touring:

These setups are designed for riders who regularly take on long-distance touring, mixed terrain routes, and fully loaded adventure travel. Secure storage allows riders to carry essential gear, tools, and travel items while maintaining balance, durability, and confidence on the road.

Together, JKonBikes and Viking Bags represent two essential parts of the motorcycle journey—one captures the inspiration and storytelling behind riding, while the other provides the practical gear that makes those journeys possible.

Different roads, different machines, same goal: ride prepared, ride further, and enjoy every mile.

I mostly V-log, but will from time to time toss in written tidbits from the adventures here!

Had a GREAT time traveling to, from and attending the BMW MOA National in Essex Junction, VT

JULY 10 2026: If you ever have the chance to attend a BMW Motorcycle Owner’s Association event, be it National or Regional, DO IT! One of the things I enjoy the most about this organization is that it is entirely inclusive. Doesn’t matter what type or brand of bike you ride, you’re welcome with open arms to attend, interact, learn and enjoy all that their club and events have to offer!

That said, the BMW MOA National Rally in Essex Junction, VT last month was no different! People from literally all over the world on bikes from LOTS of manufacturers together in one place celebrating BMW Motorcycles and the Community of people who love them! In addition to the organized rides and informational seminars, there were TONS of vendors, many doing onsite installations and all offering nearly every accessory and/or service any motorcyclist would love to have!

Always a favorite of mine were the bikes entered in the show. Everything from beautifully restored antiques to modern interpretations and ‘rat rod’ bikes or unrestored beautiful pieces of BMW Motorrad’s history. This year, even an hand built electric entry!

My trip up began on Wednesday in the rain, I opted for the K1600 since I had a Wilbur Suspension upgrade done this past Winter by the fine folks at Kissel Motorsports in Tyrone, PA who were (as always) also at the Rally. Gave me a chance to really experience the new suspension. Unfortunately on Day 1 it was limited by rain from my home to the New York Line.

I had diligently planned my route to provide an optimal ‘suspension workout’ taking mostly back roads and even a few gravel pathways all the way to my overnight in Albany, NY but only made it to Factoryville, PA for lunch before opting to hop on I-81 and book it to my Hotel in NY.

Got up on Thursday morning and in a pre-arranged miracle of coordination, took a scenic hour plus ride to the Blue Benn Diner in Bennington, VT to meet up with a group of fellow ‘Airheads’ again riding a variety of bikes for an enjoyable breakfast at this historic location.

After breakfast, I took off with a friend and fellow member of the “Dutch Country Riders” (my local BMW MOA Chapter club) for a totally unplanned run north through the fields, mountains and historic towns of rural western Vermont. Stopped to fuel our bikes & bodies then split off to our respective lodging for a final solo sprint.

Registration was a breeze and the rally incredible as always. My hotel room was another matter altogether! Unusually HOT temps and a non-functional AC made for an unpleasant first night, but got moved to a new room the next day and all was good!

As with all my jaunts, you can find videos from my trip on the YouTube page under the appropriate folder, but here’s a few photos too!
